Volunteer Opportunities - Docent

Docent
Share Your Passion for California's Rich History

Rancho Los Alamitos Docents share with visitors – the general public, school tours, special interest groups and guests – the story of the ranch, the people and the landscape over time, from the earliest Native American period through to the current, looking at what has changed and what has stayed the same and why.

If you would enjoy working with the public or our school children, want to learn and explore the history of the region, then join the enthusiastic and knowledgeable group of Docents at the ranch.  We will provide training and open up a whole new world for you. All docents participate in a 16 hour, 4-week course that explores issues of Southern California culture and environment.

The Rancho requests a two-year commitment to the Docent Program. To maintain active status, docents are required to donate a minimum of 8 hours per month.

For more information, please call us today at (562) 431-3541 or complete our online Volunteer Application.
